OUR STORY
Built by Someone Who Wasn’t Satisfied With “Normal” Landscaping.
Too often, it felt rushed. Inconsistent. Like no one was really paying attention to the bigger picture.
So instead of accepting that as the standard, he started building something better.
Not all at once—and not perfectly—but intentionally. A company where properties are actually managed, not just serviced. Where the same team shows up, takes ownership, and improves things over time.
Today, GoodBird is still a work in progress. Ryan is still hands-on. And the team is still pushing to raise the bar—one property, one system, and one improvement at a time.
It Didn’t Start as a Landscape Company.
Ryan’s first step into the green space wasn’t traditional landscaping—it was through Urban Abundance, a company focused on turning yards into edible, productive landscapes. That experience changed how he saw outdoor spaces—and how people connected to them.
But it also revealed a gap.
Clients loved working with the Urban Abundance team—the communication, the care, the thoughtfulness. That same experience wasn’t always there with traditional landscape providers.
So instead of working around that problem, he decided to solve it.
He acquired Total Maintenance—an established, old-school landscape company with a strong local reputation and a team that knew their craft. It wasn’t about starting from scratch. It was about building on a solid foundation and evolving it into something better.
